About me

My name is Bas and would describe myself as an infectiously enthusiastic person. I am 25 years old and have just graduated from my Master in Mechanical Engineering. 

I find that I thoroughly enjoy learning in general and have a broad interest range. I have always had an interest in physics, biology and chemistry and am glad I got to somewhat combine everything in my masters. Besides just interests in STEM, I have also found interests in human psychology, communication, urban planning, geology and history.

Besides studying, I absolutely love sports and exercise. You will not see me walking in a gym, but playing waterpolo, cycling, running, playing volleyball or throwing friends in judo. I love pushing my body to do things it has not done before. Next to these classical sports, I also adore hiking and climbing in nature. My parents have had holidays outdoors all their lives and it has stayed in my blood. 

With an active lifestyle comes proper food, and I have not yet encountered anything I do not like to eat. I enjoy trying new food and cooking extensively on a regular basis, when I have the time for it.
